- San Angelo Community Medical Center is a full-service, 171-bed acute care hospital and home of the 30-Minutes-Or-Less ER Service Pledge. Our hospital is a designated Level III Trauma Center and the Concho Valley’s only accredited Chest Pain Center. Our services include a comprehensive Heart and Vascular program, including open heart surgery, and a Level III-A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Approximately 850 employees and 125 volunteers work at SACMC.
- SACMC is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s premier healthcare accreditation organization.
- SACMC exceeds national standards in many categories. Our patient satisfaction exceeds national standards, and our Door to Balloon (D2B) times, the time it takes when a patient enters the ER experiencing a heart attack to the time blood flow is successfully restored to the heart, have consistently been below the national goal of 90 minutes.
- SACMC takes pride in launching new and vital services in our region. Some of these initiatives include the area’s first neonatal intensive care services, the only hybrid catheterization lab in the area, the region’s first heartburn treatment center, the area’s first wound care center, the first city-wide wellness program, and the area’s first concussion management program.
- Community Health Club, a nationally award-winning facility, is affiliated with SACMC. The health club offers more than 70 fitness classes each week, free nursery, extended hours, certified personal trainers, indoor swimming pool, racquetball courts, massage therapy, and more. City Employees receive a waived activation fee and a 20% discount on either individual or family memberships.
- SACMC is the lead organization for the nationally recognized San Angelo Safe Kids Coalition. Safe Kids is a nationally affiliated program dedicated to the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries and accidents. San Angelo Safe Kids celebrated its 16th anniversary in 2011, serving San Angelo with programs such as “Buckle-ups,” where hundreds of car seats have been checked by certified car seat technicians.
- There are two Walk-In/Urgent Care Clinics servicing SACMC. CMA's walk-in/urgent care clinic, MediCenter-West, provides convenient minor emergency care. MediCenter-West is located on Sherwood Way, across from Wal-Mart. WTMA's walk-in clinic is located on the southwest side of the hospital, to the right of the ER, and also provides convenient minor emergency care.
