Baby Steps

Baby Steps is an innovative program that helps moms get back into pre-pregnancy shape while strenghtening the bond between mother and child.

The six-week classes begin about six weeks after delivery and helps moms get back into shape, develop motor skills in their infants and strengthens bonds.

The classes are offered free of charge to anyone who delivers at SACMC or who is a member at Community Health Club of San Angelo. Classes are limited to 15 mothers and their infants.

"The exercise is light and intended to begin the new mom's return to shape," says Lisa Karp, program coordinator. "We also will emphasize bonding between mother and child by invovling the new mom and her baby in the exercises. There is more love and cuddling than sweat, but this innovative program is a great opportunity for moms to get into a fitness routine after pregnancy."
